Navy Federal Credit Union statement PDF to CSV or QBO
How to get Navy Federal Credit Union statements out as PDFs, what Navy Federal Credit Union already exports natively, and how to turn the PDF into a CSV or QuickBooks .qbo file that's checked against the statement's own balances.
- Statement history online
- up to 36 months of statements saved when you go paperless
- Native CSV/QFX/QBO download
- CSV and PDF transaction history only. QFX downloads were removed in 2026 per Navy Federal's replies quoted on Quicken's forum
- Best use of a PDF converter
- Navy Federal doesn't hand out QBO or QFX files, so if you use QuickBooks Desktop Web Connect, converting the statement PDF to QBO is a way to get one. Because the paperless archive holds 36 months, save older statements before they roll off.
What Navy Federal Credit Union says
- Navy Federal says that when you go paperless, up to 36 months of statements are automatically saved and available to view or print. [source]
- A Quicken community thread quotes Navy Federal's eMessage replies (April 2026): transaction history downloads are offered in CSV and PDF formats only, and other file formats are no longer supported. The Download button sits next to “Transaction History”. [source]
Convert a Navy Federal Credit Union PDF statement to CSV or QBO
- Download the statement PDF from Navy Federal Credit Union online banking (see above). Use the downloaded PDF, not a scan or a phone photo.
- Open StatementHaul and drop the PDF in. It's read in your browser with pdf.js.
- Look at the result: Reconciled means opening + credits − debits equals the printed closing balance. If it doesn't, the first row that breaks is highlighted.
- Download the CSV or the .qbo file.
Importing into QuickBooks
QuickBooks Online's CSV upload accepts a 3-column (Date, Description, Amount) or 4-column (Date, Description, Credit, Debit) layout. [Intuit] StatementHaul's CSV has more columns (Date, Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, Balance, Page), so delete the extra columns first or map them in the upload step. The .qbo file is OFX 1.02 Web Connect with a generic bank ID. QuickBooks Online imports it under Banking › Upload transactions. QuickBooks Desktop is stricter about bank IDs and may refuse it, in which case use CSV.
StatementHaul's parser is generic: it reads standard text-based PDF statements by column position. We have not tested it on Navy Federal Credit Union statements specifically. As of October 2026 it has been tested on 11 public sample statements (a US bank, two US credit unions and open-source test sets) plus 4 synthetic ones. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported. The balance check tells you on screen whether the rows add up to the printed closing balance, and a statement that fails to parse isn't counted against your free statements.

Drop a text-based statement PDF into StatementHaul. It's converted in your browser, never uploaded, and the opening + credits − debits = closing check runs on every statement. Your first 2 statements are free with no signup, then $9 one-time for 10 or $29 one-time for 100.
